no signal, still playing.
kleos music plays the music that is already on your phone. no wifi, no mobile data, no loading spinner — the tunnel, the plane and the basement are not a problem.

playback never leaves the phone.
every file is read straight from storage. the internet is never in the path between you and your music, so nothing buffers, nothing stops halfway, and nothing is streamed twice over your data plan.
the internet is only for enrichment.
lyrics, the correct album art, artist information, explicit tags. kleos music asks once for what is missing, keeps the answer on the phone, and never touches the files you already have.
lyrics that survive the plane.
lyrics embedded in your file come first. when a track has none, kleos music matches them and caches them on your phone — which is why they are still there the next time you have no connection at all.
the whole app is under 10 mb.
smaller than a single album cover in your library. it installs in seconds, sits quietly in storage, and has no use for the permissions it does not ask for.

questions.
yes, completely. playback needs no wifi and no mobile data — the files come off your phone. the connection is only used to enrich the library, and whatever has been looked up once stays on the device.
